Cheltenham Society of Friends

A building in a prominent position in Cheltenham and yet little known, due to its unassertive position behind a high block wall. Austere, 1980s blockwork with pyramidal rooves - a real Marmite building.

We have undertaken a series of quiet interventions, improving the access steps, adding a roooflight to the meeting room, with new lighting and ceilings throughout; acoustic treatments to walls and ventilation - subtle but effective.

Good architecture is not always about making a bold statement.
